Medicare Funded Sessions for Psychology

Important information about Medicare arrangements for 2023
 
Over the last couple of years, we have been fortunate enough to have access to 10 additional sessions with a Medicare rebate on top of the usual maximum of 10 per calendar year.
 
I’m writing to let you know that these extra sessions will no longer be available in 2023. This means that the maximum number of individual sessions with a Medicare rebate available to each person with a GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan will again be 10.
 
The good news is, if you have a current referral from your GP, whether for the initial 10 or the additional 10 covid sessions, any unused sessions will roll over to next year. So, you will not need to return to your GP for a new referral.
